FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR LEARNERS
 
Q. What is a virtual learning environment?
A. Virtual Learning Environment is a platform governed by multimedia interactive content which allows learners to participate in their learning endeavours; it also helps formation of e-communities between learners, between tutors, between learners and tutors and between learners from different campuses and courses.
   
Q Who accreditates and certifies courses at HRDWebvarsity?
A Certain courses developed and deployed in HRDWebvarsity will be accreditated by the professional organisations and institutions of higher learning. For example: IPD UK, IAM UK, Malaysian Institute of Management, INTAN, and UNITAR so on and so fore. However, courses offered in the first phase of HRDWebvarsity will be mostly certified by Specialist Management Resources.
   
Q What are the service streams of HRDWebvarsity?
A HRDWebvarsity offers four learning service streams. A service stream integrates courses, learners, tutors against the background of learning support services to present an interactive learning environment to a defined category of learners. A learner can enter the HRDWebvarsity through any Service Stream and join the campus that interests him/her.
   
Q Who are the learners of HRDWebvarsity?
A HRDWebvarsity offers its services to HR professionals from all walks of life. They can be either individual learners who may be interested in pursuing their higher education in HR related areas or corporates for whom the courses are customized to the needs of specific corporations.
   
Q How many virtual campuses do you have?
A HRDWebvarsity will be developed in phases. A fully developed HRDWebvarsity will have a number of Virtual Campuses; however, in the first phase we have Six Virtual Campuses.
   
Q How do you differentiate one campus from another?
A Each campus is very different from the other. The main differentiating factor is the courses offered in each campus. Each campus is dedicated to a particualar subject matter.
   
Q What happens when a learner fails to complete his/her assignments?
A The completion of the course determines on the completion of all the tests, assignment and project. If any one of the above is not submitted in the stipulated period the course will not be completed and the certificate will not be awarded.
   
Q Are the learners entitled to free courses?
A Yes, anybody (learner) who enters the HRDWebvarsity is entitled for the free courses available. A general (free) registration is however compulsory.
   
Q Are the learners entitled to pay for the e-library and placement services?
A No, the service charges for the e-library will be included in the tution fees you pay while registering for a course. However, the choice of availing the e-library service will be optional and the fees will be charged accordingly.
   
Q Who do I contact for more information?

Q Do all the courses need to go through onsite and online training?
A No, not all the courses in HRDWebvarsity are blended. Only the learners who have enrolled themselves in SMR’s onsite training program will have to go through both Online (Introductory Module) and Onsite training. Others learners wil complete the whole course online. However, at any point if a need arises for any contact classes, then the learner will have to go through both onsite and online training.
   
Q What is the best way to contact my tutor?
A The best way to contact your tutor is through mail. If the tutor does not mind giving his contact number on his personal page, you could also contact him over the telephone.
   
Q Are the tutors available 24/7?
A No. Learners can however, leave questions, queries or assignments for the tutor to respond. The response of the tutor will be available after 48 hours or earlier.
   
Q Are courses time bound?
A Yes. The courses in HRDWebvarsity are time bound. It is imperative that a learner completes her/his course within the stipulated time. This may demand on-time submission of the tests, assignment and projects.
   
Q Do I have to repay my course free In case I discontinue my course?
A No. In case you want to discontinue your course or defer it to a later date, its best for you to inform your tutor and possibly give a tentative date of continuing the course. In that case you will not have to repay your fees. Dicontinuation of a course for more than a year (without informing) will be considered void. In this case you will have to repay your course fee when you rejoin the course.
   
Q Do we get any course materials while our tenure?
A All the course materials, support materials (articles, books, journals etc) will be provided in a ‘softcopy’ form. However, e-books will be provided on demand by the learner.
   
Q What if I have a question or concern, is there someone I can speak to?

Q Will I have any kind of assignments, project work and/or exams?
A Fortunately or unfortunately yes, you will have unit tests after every module, assignment and project depending on the Certificate Course you enroll for.
   
Q Will my certificates reflect that I have earned them online?
A No, your certificates will nowhere reflect that you have done your course online. The certificates awarded for both online and onsite learners are the same.
   
Q Are my courses professionally certified?
A In the first stage all courses will be at a certificate level (Basic and Advanced) and will be certified by Specialist Management Resources. Subsequently courses will be accredited to professional organisations and/or institutes of higher learning.
   
Q What are the criteria for the eligibility of the course?
A It will vary according to the course. In most cases eligibility will depend on both educational qualifications and work experience in the relevant field. The learner can check for his/her eligibility by going to the courses online (virtual classroom).
   
Q Will I have 24/7 online support for my course?
A Yes. Anything related to the tutor will have to take place within definate time frames which will be communicated to you when you register for a course.
